ROME, Italy- A 31-year old nun gave birth to a baby boy despite being unaware that she was pregnant.

Italy- A 31-year old nun gave birth to a baby boy despite being unaware that
she was pregnant.
Italian
news agency ANSA reported that a Salvadorean nun had no idea that she was about
to give birth until she felt severe stomach pain in the convent.
The
nun whose name was not mentioned was rushed to hospital on Wednesday and gave
birth to a 9-pound baby boy.
The
baby was named after pope’s chosen title - Francesco (Francis) which is also
the most popular name in Italy.
Reports
said that the nun is from “Little Disciples of Jesus” in Campomoro near Rieti, a
convent that helps the aged people.
The mother’s fellow nuns said in an interview
that they were surprised about what happened.
Despite
the “unknown” pregnancy, mother of Francis insisted she will keep the baby.
Meanwhile,
since the nun was not prepared on giving birth to his son, new mothers in Reiti
hospital gave clothes and donations for her. (AFP)
